SOULCORE LEADER – JESSICA

My name is Jessica Huerta and I spent my high school years discerning a life of perpetual marriage to Christ through the Franciscan Sisters of Mary Immaculate. I met my now earthly spouse during my formation as affiliate. Not long after I was called to the vocation of marriage to him my high school sweetheart, and we just celebrated 11 years of marriage. We have two beautiful daughters Lily 13, Layla 7, and one angel baby who we lovingly named Elijah. I am a cradle Catholic who has worked within the Diocese for years in the Respect Life Office and as the Cathedral Secretary. I have had a Marian devotion since I was a child, Our Lady of Lourdes to be exact. Her visiting St. Bernadette Soubirous, a poor very asthmatic villager who I identified so much with because of my own asthma was so intriguing. Her beautiful loving words have never left me “I’m happier with my crucifix on my bed of pain than a queen on her throne.” Searching for health and the rosary I fell upon Soulcore. After being quite ill for a year with no end in sight and being tested for auto-immune diseases I needed an exercise routine that strengthened my body as well as my weary soul. I quickly fell in love with this full body prayer, as it not only deepened my faith but helped me grow closer to Christ through the very heart of His Blessed mother.
It also gave me the armor I needed to continue on my journey of this unknown disease. I hope to help others connect more intimately to our Lord through the most powerful tool in our Catholic arsenal, that the Holy mother so graciously gave us. What more could we give, than to praise our Lord with our whole being?
