Mary is a lifelong Rhode Islander and works in outreach and education for the RI Division of Fish and Wildlife. She has had a passion for God’s creation from an early age, and views her work as an environmental steward as a form of praise to God for all of His good gifts to us, present in nature. Two of her favorite saints are St. Francis of Assisi and St. Kateri Tekakwitha. She is very excited to have dedicated her home garden as a Catholic habitat, aligned with the practice of integral ecology, through the St. Kateri Tekakwitha Conservation Center.
Mary is a wife and mother and loves spending time with her family (including their dog and cat!), whether at home or in the great outdoors. She loves cooking, horseback riding, and all things cozy. She and her husband are also big fans of J.R.R. Tolkien, not only for his vast contribution to literature, but also for his strong witness to his Catholic faith.
Mary learned about SoulCore by attending a class while visiting a friend in New Jersey, and couldn’t stop thinking about it for four years afterwards! In 2023, she decided to become a certified leader so that she could help bring SoulCore to Rhode Island. She loves the combination of movement and prayer, and hopes that others will too!
A FEW OF MARY’S FAVORITE SCRIPTURE VERSES:
John 1:1-14; Isaiah 11:1-9; Psalm 42:1-3
