SOULCORE LEADER – LUCY

Blessings and Peace be with you. My name is Lucy. I am happily married to my husband Julian for 27 years and was blessed with 4 amazing (now young adult) children. Born and raised in an Italian Catholic, it was just a given, God and family always came first. So weekly attendance at Mass, followed by pasta dinner on Sunday afternoon was never optional. As I look back on those days, I am forever grateful to my parents. They instilled in me an appreciation and love for family and my Catholic faith and a desire to grow deeper in understanding of my faith, most especially after starting my own family. When my children were young, I immediately got involved with many ministries at our parish and catholic school, St Rose of Lima, and felt that the Lord was calling me specifically to minister and share the faith with young families. From Baptism Prep to faith formation, children’s rosary and family retreats, I could look back and say God has been leading and calling me to share His love and bring faith and hope to children and families.

Since I have started praying the rosary daily, for many years now, it has brought me so much peace and strength in my faith journey and in all aspects of my life. I have grown deeper in my devotion to the Blessed Mother and through her, my relationship with Jesus has grown tremendously. I believe so strongly in the power of the rosary and the enormous spiritual benefits gained from meditating on the birth, life, passion and resurrection of our Lord and Savior. When I first discovered SoulCore, many years ago, I was so excited to find a way I could combine something I loved (the rosary) with something I didn’t care too much about (exercise) and actually enjoy working out for the first time in my life.

As evident through the various ministries I have been involved with, my desire has always been focused on faith formation for children and families. I would love to share this experience with others because I believe SoulCore could be a fun yet powerful way to encourage the young to pray the rosary and for families to pray the rosary together. “The family that prays together, stays together” -Fr.
