Patty and her husband Tom have been happily married for 34 years and are blessed with three amazing children: Kip, Karlyn and Kelsie and two great son-in-laws Mike and Brandon. In the last three years they were given the greatest gift for parents, two adorable grand children Thomas and Addison. Patty and Tom are parishioners at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton of Fort Wayne, In. She has been involved with CRHP, Eucharistic ministry, RCIA, and bible study. All of these activities have helped her grow in her faith. However, after a trip to Rome for the Beatification of Mother Teresa, she realized she wanted to share her catholic faith. Patty is a Registered Nurse at the Allergy and Asthma Center since 1977. She was certified as a Nutrition and Wellness Consultant in 2008. In her role as a health care provider, she is able to give to others, but receives much more in return. She experienced many years ago that physical activity and healthy nutrition keep you balanced in life physically and mentally. When hearing about SoulCore and attending a training, it was obvious that this was exactly what she wanted to be a part of. It truly intertwined her physical, mental and spiritual exercise together, in a one hour session. This is definitely a way to share her love of exercise and love of her Catholic faith with others. She has no idea how God or the Blessed Mother are going to use her, but she is willing and ready to begin this new journey in leading SoulCore.
PATTY’S FAVORITE SCRIPTURE VERSE: Phillipians 4: 6-7
I have been married to Frederick for 33 years and with whom I recently went on a grace filled and life changing pilgrimage to Rome! We have 4 wonderful children and 4 grandchildren and all of them have brought more happiness and love than I ever thought possible and grandparenting is truly the ultimate joy and blessing❤️
I am a registered nurse and have continually worked since graduating in December 1980. I taught religious ed and apologetics to high school students and then 8th grade confirmation prep for a total of 10 years. My future plans are to hopefully be involved in the home bound ministry and St. Vincent de Paul society.
SoulCore caught my attention 1 year ago when I read about it in “Today’s Catholic”. Although I have always exercised in one form or another and have prayed the rosary my entire life, I knew this combination was for me. And the fact it can be modified for all ages is perfect for our parish.
A FEW OF LINDA’S FAVORITE SCRIPTURE VERSES:
Matthew 7: 20-21; Philippians 4:13; Luke 22: 19-20; Matthew 5: 3-10
My husband, Jason, and I are members of St. Vincent’s DePaul parish in Fort Wayne and have been married for 18 years. We have been blessed with five children, Isabel, Noah, Lucas, Jonah, and Elijah. I am a physical therapist assistant and have spent most of my career working in outpatient orthopedics. I have always enjoyed staying involved in a variety of fitness activities. As a family we love spending time together outdoors camping, swimming, and watching our children participate in sports.
I was introduced to SoulCore about the same time as one of our parish priests gave a homily about sharing our gifts with others. Soon after this I was able to attend a SoulCore leader retreat. I really felt like this was a wonderful way to incorporate my education in exercise and my desire to grow in my prayer life. I am very excited to share the physical and spiritual experience of SoulCore with my parish, bringing us all closer to the heart of Jesus’ mother Mary.
In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 it says: “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been purchased at a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body.”
A FEW OF SARAH’S FAVORITE SCRIPTURE VERSES:
Galatians 2:19-20, 1Kings 19:11-13, 1 Corinthians 13:1-7, Luke 19:1-10
Ruth and Steve have been married for 20 years. For the past 14 years, with great “fear and trembling”, she and her husband have home schooled their family. They are both extremely proud of their 5 children. Ruth studied Theology and English at the University of Notre Dame and was a “walk on” on the swim team there. After college she taught high school religion and became involved in biking and sprint triathlons–when she wasn’t pregnant or nursing. She loves to promote “all things Catholic”, with a special interest in the Theology of the Body, sanctity of life issues, and the compatibility of faith and science. Her love for the Eucharist, the rosary, and the Blessed Virgin Mary has blossomed through intense personal suffering. She has always found it easy and natural to incorporate prayer into her exercise routine and was ecstatic when she heard about SoulCore.
A FEW OF RUTH’S FAVORITE SCRIPTURE VERSES:
Romans 12:1, Philippians 4:13, and Psalm 40
