SOULCORE LEADER – DENISE-MARIE

Hi! My name is Denise-Marie and I split my time between Jupiter, Florida and Paris, France. I’m a writer, lawyer and creative entrepreneur focusing on uplifting projects that make being Catholic cool (we’re talking lots of glitter and superhero crowns and capes!). More than all that though, I’m happily married for over twenty years to my awesome hubby Joe, am an active member of St. Edward Roman Catholic Church in Palm Beach, and have a deep devotion to our Blessed Mother Mary and the rosary.

As a Dame in the Order of Malta, I’m part of our ministry where we pray the rosary with people who are in nursing homes or otherwise in confined institutions, including prisons. When I’m abroad, I spend lots of time at la Basilique du Sacré-Coeur, Saint-Jean de Montmartre and Notre-Dame des Victoires, praying the rosary wherever I go. I have personally experienced and witnessed the miracles of prayers for Mother Mary’s intercession and the power of the rosary.  I envision introducing SoulCore to these missions if it’s God’s will now that I know how transforming it can be.

One day a few years ago while on a yoga mat during a very challenging time of my life, I started to spontaneously pray the “Hail Mary” instead of the instructor’s mantra and did the rest of the class in deep prayer.  This happened a couple more times before I could no longer deny that something was amiss.  A quick Google search revealed a part of our catechism that I wasn’t aware of and shortly thereafter, the Hallow app led me to SoulCore. A few classes and a virtual retreat at the beginning of 2023 later, there was no turning back. I found a practice that brought together all aspects of my faith that touched body, mind, heart and soul.

Even though I mostly lead Joe and our three adorable dogs Félix, Oscar and Cocoa in SoulCore classes, which they all love by the way, I look forward to sharing it with others around the globe. To be part of an apostolate that combines the rosary with praise-be-to-God postures is a blessing.

Being Catholic is cool indeed!
