Renée Kurz lives in Philadelphia, working as a designer and dance artist/educator. She is an active member of St. Francis Xavier Parish/The Oratory and is thrilled to bring the blessing of SoulCore to her community. She moved to Philadelphia in 2012 after being a missionary with Heart’s Home, an International Catholic service organization, in South India. Her Heart’s Home experience deepened her faith and her relationship with Our Blessed Mother. Renée taught dance at John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls’ High School from 2012-2016. She is currently in a graduate program for a degree in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling. She also works as a personal fashion designer and seamstress specializing in sacred garments: wedding gowns, priest stoles, and christening gowns.
Renée has been dancing since she was a little girl, finding joy in experiencing herself fully alive through movement. As a professional modern dancer for ten years, she is passionate about forging creative connections and communications for the new evangelization through virtuous dance offerings and sacred encounters. Her dance philosophy is grounded in the Theology of the Body and Truth through Beauty, inviting others into renewed experiences of full bodied expression.
