SOULCORE LEADER – SUSANNE

It is a privilege to serve as a SoulCore Leader in the archdiocese of St. Louis.  “To minister to others through exercise” has been a calling that God put on my heart when I was in my late 20’s.  Because God spoke these words to me, I’ve been instructing exercise along with prayer since 1985. (I know, a long time!) So, when I first heard about SoulCore in 2016, it felt like a natural fit to purse a certification as a SoulCore instructor.  Also, certified with AFAA and NASM, I am current with all required course work.  As long as our Lord desires to use me in this ministry, I will strive to continue sharing this God-given talent with others.  I look forward to meeting you, praying with you and exercising with you.  All glory to God through Jesus and His Bless Mother.

SOULCORE LEADER – KATIE

The most important things to me are my family and my faith. Following these things are taking care of the great gift that we have been given, our body. Scripture tells us that our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor 6:19). We are called to take care of our body both physically and spiritually. Honor your body, that is what Soulcore is all about.
I have been an Occupational therapist for over 30 years. As an occupational therapist, my goal is to help people reach their goals to be the best they can be. Exercise has always been a big part of my life. I have been a runner for most of my life but discovered the beauty of pilates style of exercise in the last 5 years. I love that it strengthens your whole body and actually allows you to do other exercises with greater strength and agility.

My parents both had a great devotion to Mary and always found comfort in praying the Rosary. Recently, I have discovered the beauty and peace in praying the Rosary. When I discovered Soulcore, I thought it was the perfect blend. I am always in search of ways to strengthen my faith life. I always have good intentions to pray more but in our busy lives something always gets the short hand. Soulcore was the perfect answer, combining prayer with core focused exercise. One of the things that I like about core centered exercise is that it is so grounding and then you add in the prayer and reflection and it takes it to a whole new level. When I find something that I love, I always want to share it with people. So It made perfect sense for me to become a leader. I love to help people and I think the two perfect ways to be your best self is to stay active physically and spiritually.

I have been a parishioner at St. Catherine Laboure for over 20 years. I have been married for over 30 years and have four grown children. I am excited to share this with my friends and parish community.
