My name is Katie Wester. My husband and I have 5 beautiful children and live on a small farm. We are active parishioners at St. Paul Parish and are involved in many of the ministries there. I have a deep yearning to help others live and grow our bodies in a healthy, holy way.
I grew up dancing competitively, spent my 20s as an elementary teacher, dance instructor, and was a certified fitness instructor. When I attended my first SoulCore class, I knew that one day it would be permanent in my life. To be able to exercise our bodies, to love our bodies by growing in strength physically, is wonderful. But to give thanks by praying the rosary during that exercise is so much more! It is prayer that reaches our needs—mind, body, and soul.
When I was about 30 years old and in between my second and third pregnancy, I was grumbling to the Father about my physical insecurities when I heard him say, “Your body is a temple. Feed it well. I am doing something new.” I realized right then I was supposed to fuel my body not only with real food and exercise, but with his Word, with prayer, his Love, and a healthy mindset toward the gift that is my body.
I am now a homemaker, baker of all things sourdough, certified health coach, and small farmer. I am thrilled to offer SoulCore classes out on our farmstead, where we can feel God’s breeze wash over us, soak in the quiet and peacefulness of the vast land surrounding us, and maybe even watch the sunset as we pray together with our Mother.
